Podcasting from A-Z
December 2nd, 2006 | by Tim Wilson |I had a great time doing the podcasting workshop today. Lots of really good questions, and we had a good amount of time to get our hands dirty recording and editing. Here are some links to sites and products that came up during the podcast:
- 15 apps for recording Skype conversations
- Audacity tutorials
- Samson USB microphones
- Snowball mic by Blue
- Pulling Back the Curtain (RealAudio stream), a piece on NPR’s On the Media that discusses how NPR edits audio.
- ProfCast software for recording Keynote and PowerPoint presentations.

Hi Tim,
Thanks for sharing these resources with us. I will add them to my podcasting wiki page located at http://joevans.pbwiki.com/Podcasting.
I’m working on the PC side of things and have been using a cheaper headphone/microphone set. Wanting to keep it as low cost as possible but looking to eliminate the background hum that I just can’t seem to fully remove in Audacity is their one particular USB microphone would you recommend?
Thanks again.

Thanks for the links Tim. I can’t be there to play this year, I’m depending on you to be my eyes and ears!

Tim-
Thanks for putting all this information up online. Our conversation got me motivated to document how I setup my podcast recordings. So, you’ll find that at http://www.edtechservices.com/blog/node/8.

Hey all.
I have Windows XP.
What are some of the video podcasting software that produces video podcasts for the PC compatible with video ipods and apple itunes?

iPods will play videos in MP4 format. So as long as your video editing solution can use that format you should be golden.
