I found your comments on the ITIL education interesting, as there are a number of immersive ITIL simulaton/gaming solutions currently on the market. Our organization develops them for HP, BMC etc - and they're set in realistic high-impact scenarios such as Airport, Formula 1 racing etc. Certainly better than death by powerpoint!

All I can say is that I aboslutely love World of Warcraft. I've been playing for about a year now and don't plan on stopping. While WoW is addicting, I must say that I play for more than just the addiction, I play for the social aspect as well since a lot of my friends kick it in Azeroth! - Representing Akama - Lvl 60 Warrior

I went into World of Warcraft with an interest in figuring this out for educators, professional development, etc. In the end, I came out with a much broader snapshot of simply what it means to "live online". Despite cutting back in "in game" time to a few hours a week these days, I'm spending three times that amount of time in our guild forums managing a few "guild identity" threads, sharing professional experiences, and genuinely being a part of an online community.

It's still a little farther "out there", but so was blogging in 2002.
